A Guide to an Electrocardiogram

While I have worked at NSC Cardiology, under many doctors, I have gotten the privilege to learn and perform ECG’s. I wanted to share this knowledge with you, so here it is!   Electrocardiography, commonly known as ECG or EKG, serves as a fundamental diagnostic tool for assessing the electrical activity of the heart. It's a non-invasive procedure that yields valuable insights into cardiac health. We'll delve into the step-by-step process of performing an ECG, the necessary equipment, interpretation of results, and its clinical significance.     Before diving into the procedure, let's briefly explore the basics of electrocardiography. The heart's electrical activity is graphically represented through waveforms recorded by placing electrodes on the body's surface. These waveforms, including the P, QRS, and T waves, correspond to specific events in the cardiac cycle. Each wave provides valuable information about the heart's rhythm, rate, and conduction pathways.   T...
